Previously an unknown high school forward, Isagi's dream is to one day become the ace striker of the Japanese national team and lead Japan to the World Cup championship. To make this dream come true, he joined the BLUE LOCK project. At first, he was unable to find his own unique weapon as a striker, but during the first selection, his talent for detecting "the smell of a goal" and his spatial awareness blossomed. After surviving the First Selection, Isagi continued to evolve as a "genius of adaptability" by repeatedly transforming himself through adapting to other players throughout the game.

Currently the top player in BLUE LOCK, Rin boasts exceptional talent in all abilities necessary for a soccer player, not to mention his scoring ability. While normally wearing a cool and collected attitude, he is an egoist who plays and speaks aggressively. On the field, he is calm and capable of dominating or playing in combination with other players after he assesses their abilities. Sae Itoshi is his older brother, and there seems to be a deep feud between them.

Bachira is an eccentric, free-spirited player who uses his skillful dribbling as his weapon. In his childhood, he enjoyed and excelled at playing soccer, but felt isolated because he didn't have a friend who could keep up with him. As a result, he created "The Monster", an imaginary friend he became obsessed with that embodied his "ideal" game, at the cost of losing sight over what he really wants while playing soccer. However, through his initial encounter with Isagi and the trials at BLUE LOCK, he regained his original ego, which led him to part ways with "The Monster" and grow both mentally and technically as a player.

Nagi is a genius forward who boasts an extraordinary soccer sense despite being extremely lazy and having no interest in the sport. Reo, who attended the same high school as him, saw his potential and convinced him to start playing soccer. He uses his natural physical and trapping abilities as a weapon to showcase his skills in a way that no ordinary player can imitate. When he entered BLUE LOCK, he was not interested in soccer or putting in any effort, but after losing to and later playing with Isagi, he developed a "passion" for soccer and awakened his ego.

He is an ultra-aggressive striker with an extraordinary desire to play soccer that makes him "explode". He has a rough but natural sense of soccer and can smell a goal more accurately than anyone else in the penalty area. He is a dangerous player who does not hesitate to use violence, but his passion for soccer is genuine, as he calls his own game a "life activity".

He is one of BLUE LOCK's most peculiar players, controlling the distance between opponents with his keen eye for detail and exquisite handwork. He is from the same youth team in Kansai as Hiori and is distinguishable by his spiked hair resembling a crow. With a mature personality, he is known by his fearsome nickname, "The Assassin", for meticulously analyzing opponents' abilities and thoroughly marking their weaknesses during play.

Appearing to descend from a rare lineage of ninjas, Eita excels at slipping past his opponents' marks using his high agility and running ability as his weapon. While he has a downbeat personality, he sometimes shows a playful side. He often teams up with Karasu, and their coordinated play is one of the best in BLUE LOCK.

Yukimiya is a nice young man who always has a smile on his face. He has a gentle personality and works as a model alongside his soccer career. Despite his soft demeanor, he prefers a style of play with overwhelming power and speed, and his dynamic dribbling is his greatest weapon, boasting unparalleled strength in one-on-one situations. He is also a very skilled shooter, specializing in a mid-range gyro shot.

A young man with a neutral face, Hiori's parents are former athletes. His weapons are his accurate passing and ball control and he is also a very dexterous player with excellent ball retention skills and the ability to read opponent's moves. He has known Karasu since before entering BLUE LOCK.

Nanase is a fine young man who stands out from the rest due to his distinctive accent and BLUE LOCK headband. Despite not having any outstanding weapons or exceptional physical abilities, he survived until the Third Selection, which speaks to his capabilities as a striker.

A beautiful boy distinguishable by his long red hair. His weapon of choice is his quick feet, allowing him to run the 50-meter dash in 5.77 seconds. Entering BLUE LOCK, Chigiri was unable to run at his full speed due to a serious injury and had planned to give up soccer by dropping out of the project. However, during the First Selection, he was roused by Isagi's voice and decided to follow his passion, regaining his weapon and the ego to use it to break through his opponents.

Reo is the heir to the large Mikage Corporation. He is a super-versatile player, with the ability to make plays using his wide field of vision and can adapt to all playstyles. However, on the other hand, he has no outstanding weapons of his own. Up to this point, he has played soccer with Nagi, but after coming to BLUE LOCK, he could not keep up with Nagi's growth and ultimately the duo went their separate ways into the Second Selection.

Barou is a confident player with such a strong ego that he calls himself a king. During games, he treats all players around him, friend and foe alike, as stepping stones, and boasts a strong physicality and unparalleled shooting technique fitting for his title as "King". Previously, he stuck to playing solo and only aimed to score his own goals, but through the Second Selection, he has established a style of play around devouring his teammates.

A smart player with long bangs that cover his eyes. At first glance, Niko may seem inconspicuous, but he is an excellent observer of the entire field and played a key role in the attack as a playmaker. He usually speaks politely, but his tone sometimes shifts as he makes confident statements. After the First Selection, he awakened and discovered a playing style where he aimed to score goals himself.

Distinguishable by his distinctive swirled eyebrows, short temper, and exaggerated facial expressions, Junichi doesn't speak often, letting his twin brother Keisuke speak for him. When Keisuke is not around, he uses gestures to convey his intentions.

Aryu is a narcissist who has a sense for aesthetics. His weapons are his jumping ability and long reach, which are unique for a Japanese player. He values his unique taste for "glam" above all else and shows respect to those whose aesthetics he's recognized. Aryu has displayed a complex around his name revealing that he believes it to be old-fashioned and thus not fitting his style.

A "wild child" with tremendous physical strength. Unlike many of the other BLUE LOCK participants, he has had a short history with soccer but has great potential. He excels at unconventional movements and plays that make use of his physical springiness. His personal life is shrouded in mystery, and his unpredictable behavior, such as eating with his hands, sometimes confuses those around him.

A young man with an aggressive personality and is distinguishable by his blonde hair. His weapon of choice is his self-proclaimed "sexy football", however, his real weapons are his strong physicality and unfathomable stamina. During games, he is known for his rough play as he intimidates those around him, but sometimes this can inspire his teammates.

Playful by nature, Igarashi's self-proclaimed "never-give-up spirit" is his weapon of choice. His father promised he wouldn't have to run their family's temple if he became a professional soccer player, so he sees the BLUE LOCK competition as a way to achieve that goal. He has learned to be cunning to draw fouls from the opponents to survive the tough selection process.

Zantetsu's weapons are his explosive acceleration and left-footed shot, and he is also very quick to react to the ball. Despite his trademark glasses that help present himself as an intellectual, he is not good at difficult tasks. In order to hide this, Zantetsu forces himself to use difficult or complex words, often mistaking and misusing the word, and hates being made fun of by people he is not close to.

Tokimitsu has an extremely negative mindset and often confuses those around him with his own self-doubt. As one of the top players in the BLUE LOCK, he boasts amazing physical strength, agility, and inexhaustible stamina. He is also a serious soccer geek, memorizing the aliases and playing styles of world-famous soccer players in great detail.

A new employee of the Japan Football Union, Anri launched BLUE LOCK with the dream of the Japanese national soccer team winning the World Cup. Since the project started, she has supported the players behind the scenes, managing their physical conditions, amongst other things. Although she leaves the coaching to Ego, she sometimes analyzes the factors of each player's play and growth, making quick judgments from her observations that often get her mocked by him.

Sae is a member of the prestigious Spanish club team Reale and has been selected as one of the New Generation Eleven, attracting attention from all over the world. Initially, Sae had completely given up on Japanese soccer, believing it to be on a low level, but became interested again after learning about BLUE LOCK during a temporary return to Japan. Although he had no interest in playing for the Japanese national team, he accepts a call-up to their U-20 team when he hears they will compete against BLUE LOCK.

A member of the prestigious Spanish club, Reale, and was selected as one of the players to form the New Generation World XI group of rising stars. He had given up on Japanese soccer, but took an interest in the BLUE LOCK project. He's indifferent to the Japanese National Team, but joined the U-20 National Team when he heard they were going to play against BLUE LOCK participants.
